Who Has AMP Carousel and Who Doesn’t? Google Reveals Countries With AMP in Search Results

Google’s Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) project debuted to a very limited audience in February. It has since been extended to a slightly larger, yet still restricted, audience.

A Google employee confirmed in a support thread that the AMP search carousel is now available in 12 countries.

However, as shown in the screenshot above, Canada has once again been excluded from the rollout of a significant new search feature. This is notable not only because it’s a recurring issue for Canadians, but also because Canada has a higher search volume compared to some of the countries that now have the AMP carousel.

This gradual rollout could be advantageous for webmasters since converting standard web pages to AMP-compatible content requires considerable time and resources. While it’s likely that AMP will eventually expand to more countries, there is no additional information available at this time.
